What it sends, and limits

iplense.cc: One request per IP family, looking up the address the request comes from.
Platforms: One to three ordinary requests per family each, which see this machine’s IP. The Disney+ check registers an anonymous device described as a generic browser.
Port 25: One connection to Gmail’s mail server, reading its greeting before closing.
Reports: By default, sends self-check tokens, client version, language, nine platform statuses and regions, port 25 status, and whether the exit differs and its masked IP. Masked reports are kept for 30 days and can be viewed by anyone with the link.
Lookup limits: 20 lookups per IP per 10 minutes; an IP's result is kept for 1 hour, and running again within it returns the same result.

Requirements

Dependencies: bash and curl
Permissions: Runs as a regular user.
Tested systems: Debian 12, Ubuntu 24.04 and Alpine 3.23

Frequently asked questions

How do I know the script was not altered?

Each release on GitHub includes the script and SHA256SUMS to verify the downloaded file.

Can it still run after the limit is reached?

Yes. The IP section says when to try again, and the local checks run as usual.

Why does a platform say “Check failed”?

A platform check fails when no clear result is returned. Port 25 fails only if the machine cannot initiate the test or resolve the mail server; refused or timed-out connections and no 220 greeting within five seconds are unavailable.
