How the checkup works
-
All checks start at once
The 14 checks start together, each with a time limit, and all reach a result within ten seconds.
-
Each source is asked once
This site’s trace, the public IP echoes and the site traces are each requested once; the exit, DNS, AI region and Claude checks share them.
-
Summarize and link to each test
Normal and informational results count as normal, and items to note are listed at the top; every card opens its full test.
Reading the result
- NormalThe result is as expected.
- InformationCommon setups such as split routing or IPv4 only; counted as normal and marked separately.
- To noteMay reveal where you are or affect access; the card links to details or what to change.
- Cannot tellA source did not answer in time; run the checkup again later.
Frequently asked questions
Which services does the checkup contact?
This site’s /cdn-cgi/trace, public IP echo services, mainland China echo services, the sites’ Cloudflare traces, DNS probe services, 6 public STUN servers and 12 sites timed for latency; the exit IP also goes through IPLense’s Quick lookup (with Cloudflare Turnstile), the RDAP registries and RIPEstat for its registration, announced prefix, RPKI and BGP routes; five common names’ A records also go to three DoH resolvers, Cloudflare, Google and AliDNS. The manual items run only after you click: the speed test contacts Cloudflare’s speed test servers, and Global Ping sends your exit IP to Globalping. The privacy policy has the full list.
Why does a check say it cannot tell?
Every check has a time limit. When a source is blocked or times out, or the browser turns off a feature the check needs (such as WebRTC), that check shows Cannot tell and the others are unaffected.
What does the saved report contain?
Save report turns the summary and the cards into an image on your device. IPLense does not keep checkup results.
